Here I am again blogging Quite busy, business, family etc.

Im back to share with you all about the place where I came from...to enhance you, to let you know or let you emagine your next Vacation place to be... let you later decide to go back home visit our family in phils.

CEBU

Cebu is a city in the midst of overwhelming growth that blends its ancestral heritage and modern business savvy with flair. Standing as the country's top business and tourist destination, Cebu was crowned as the Queen City of the South. Finding its own place under Cebu's friendly skies, business and leisure breathe together with office buildings and beach resorts.

Relics of the past are found aplenty as Cebu is the country's oldest city. The street with the distinction of being the oldest in the Philippines is Colon Street. Colon Street was paved lat in the 16th century by Miguel Lopez de Legaspi and now houses malls, office buildings, theaters as well as museums and monuments. Other historical places are the oldest fortress in the country, Fort San Pedro, Liloan Lighthouse and the Bantayan sa Hari.

Cebu was named the country's capital by the Spaniards in 1565 and has been a bustling trade port since pre-Hispanic times. Since that time, Cebu has been able to maintain its stature as the center of trade and commerce in Southern Philippines.

More than just a city of increasing sophistication, Cebu still retains much of its provincial warmth and charm, with its colorful past. Apart from Cebu's numerous man-made landmarks and institutions, it also features many miles of forest greens - a haven to wildlife and the place for a perfect picnic. There's the 15,393-hectacre Central Cebu National Park, the 696-hectare Sudian National Park, the Kawasan Falls and the Bolok-Bolok Mineral Springs. nearby Mactan Island boasts of world-class beach resorts.

Tourist Attractions

Basilica Minore De Santo Nino
The Santo Nino de Cebu, the oldest religious relic in the country, is housed at the Basilica, one of the country's oldest churches. It was a token of friendship by Magellan to Queen Juana in 1521 and has survived fires and other catastrophes throughout the years. The Chapel of the Last Supper in Mandaue, the Taoist Temple and the Phu-Sian Temple in Beverly Hills, Naga Church and Argao Church are other religious institutions worth seeing.

Casa Gorordo Museum
Once the residence of the first Filipino Bishop of Cebu, a tour of the Casa Gorordo gives a glimpse of the Filipino lifestyle from 1860 to 1920. Paintings, religious relics, a courtyard, antique household items and furniture are featured in the museum.

Island Hopping
Without a view of its numerous tropical islets, a vacation in Cebu would be incomplete. A few of the attractions found in Cebu are sun-kissed and white sand beaches, colorful corals and abundant marine life. Explore the caves and lagoons of Calanggaman and Gato. Swim the beaches of Argao, Oslob and Carmen. Experience the divespots of Moalboal, Badian, Mactan and Olango. The choices are infinite.

Lapu-Lapu Monument
Proudly standing at Marangay Mactan in Mantan Island is Lapu-Lapu's bronze form. He is the first Filipino leader to resist Spanish attempts at colonization and is revered to this day. His statue ironically stands across the street from that of rival, Magellan.

Magellan's Cross
In 1521, Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan planted a cross on the very spot where the first Filipinos were baptized People started chipping off parts of the cross because of supposed supernatural powers until the city government encased it in tindalo wood and housed it in a monument. It now stands at the corner of Magallanes and Burgos streets.

University of San Carlos Museum
The country's oldest university, San Carlos was founded by the Jesuits in 1595. Various archeological artifacts are housed in the museum as well as religious relics from all over the Philippines.

Before I forgot also want to be NOTED our Philippine languages.

Filipino (formerly Pilipino) is based on Tagalog and is the official language of the Philippines. In spite of being the national language, only about 55 percent of Filipinos speak the language. In addition to Filipino are about 111 distinct indigenous languages and dialects, of which only about 10 are important regionally.

English is generally used for educational, governmental and commercial purposes and is widely understood since it is the medium of instruction in schools. The Philippines are the third largest group of English speaking people in the world, after the United States and the United Kingdom.

Since English is widely spoken in the Philippines, it is common to hear Filipinos use a mixture English and Filipino words or phrases, known as "Taglish" (a mixture of English and Tagalog), in their everyday conversations.

A steadily dwindling minority still speak Spanish, which had at one time been an official language.
This question was registered in my mind today morning... 29.09.06 my driving exam schedule. My "lernfahrauweis" (student permit) is just extended until today coz it's already invalid until 1.9.06. One week before, my mind was already struggling for this examination and asking always in myself, Can i manage this time??? Yesterday evening, at 7pm i have my germanclass so i went to school and learn. As it's already over,i got in hurry coz i watched in my clock is already 9pm and i need to got my train at 9:06, i keep running or faster as walking...from 2nd floor in the school building. Suddenly i am out of balance my foot was not correctly flat in step on the stairway...it's totally aching,in couple of seconds i can't used my left foot niether move it.Then i remembered, tomorrow is my Grand Final....hehehe for this driving exam,i really, really feel worried...and thinking also did i passed my train now, i can't walk correctly so i try to move my left foot slowly as i can so i did it and then i try continue walking although it's slowly until in the train station. So i manage it i got my train to go home.I told to my husband what was happened and he got worried too. Today morning until now im sitting and writing this blog my left foot is still aching...i cannot walk as normally as i can. Before the time of my examination...i still don't know if i really do this, go there take the exam, although i feel not so good with my left foot? For how many times i asked myself, and asked to my husband...and he can't also decide what should im going to do coz he can't feel it of what i felt. So i cried, (that was 9am today morning) i don't know if i take this exam or not...so my husband called to my teacher and said about my situation. My teacher said he will come pick me up (for the said schedule 11:30am) and i drive for 30mins if all are okay with my foot and as long as i can drive then i can try...or else i can also decide of myself NO or Yes. So i said YES i will take the exam...after 30mins drive. And you know what happen??? I DID IT.....Yepeyyyyyyyy i passed the exam.I am very speechless i don't know what should i write now...one thing, is I am happy...at last i can drive without this big blue letter L...hehehehe.
So that's why,i concluded it to myself yesterday is my "Pech" and today is my "Glück"
I posted here a photo from Lapu-Lapu... a place where i born, i grown up, i miss my place...my native place...heeemmm although i just visited this place last 6months ago...do i felt homesick??? hahaha

I miss also our beautiful beaches in Lapu-Lapu ...ohhh I love my own Yes i really miss it that is true.Although i can't swim well...but i love to go to the water as long i can stand together with my both legs (unfortunately although i grown up in an island).Well, together with my family here in switzerland we go also swimming in the lake...in Zugersee (the lake in Zug). This summer/last month coz this month of augost, supposedly it is still summer time but for me i already little bit cold ...i can't wear to swim anymore...hemmm

Before i forgot a short story from our City..Lapu-Lapu

LAPULAPU

Chief Lapulapu”s (1491-1542) other name is Kolipulako. The hero of Mactan and conqueror of Magellan, is described as stern, proud, intelligent, unyielding. He waged continuous war against the powerful ruler of Cebu, then a very much greater kingdom than his little island of Maktang. Of him, President Gullas of the University of the Visayas writes:

“Lapulapu is a good example of determination and willingness to work well. He learned how to ride on a horseback and on carabao proficiently at the age of six years; knew how to read and write at seven; boxed well at nine; became a champion swimmer, boxer and wrestler at eighteen; beat the Bornean marauders and pirates twice at twenty.” In the lives of men who have almost become legendary one finds it diffucult to separate fact from fiction. This must be true in the case of the material quoted above.

History has it that Mactan Island although small was a thriving community when the great Magellan was in Cebu. The brave Spanish navigator and soldier, upon learning that some inhabitants on this tiny island across Cebu refused to recognize the King of Spain, burned one of the villages. Lapulapu was one of he native leaders who refused to acknowledge the sovereignty of Spain over the Islands.

When Magellan, “with three boatloads of Spaniards and twenty boatloads of Cebuanos” went to Mactan to help a friendly chief, Lapulapu and his men armed with native fighting elements - wooden shields, bows and arrows, lances - met them. The invading Spaniards and Cebuanos were driven back to their boats, but their brace leader, Magellan, net death in the hands of Lapulapu. On what is believed to be the exact spot where Magellan fell and died, now stands an imposing monument in honor of the gallant explorer.

In the well-kept plaza of Opon, one of the two towns on Mactan Island, stands today an inspiring monument in honor of Lapulapu, considered the first Filipino to have repelled European aggression.

Today i've supposedly attended our General Assembly in Seebach ZH, but is NOT. Yesterday we already planned what should we do today...go shopping, grocery, attending my GA together with Rio and etc. Huuuuu...Yes it happened but not all...coz we doesn't manage to divide our time just because of some unexpected situation of what we encounter today.

First as i drive...ohhh i drived today from at home to almost in our destination approximately 1hour drive.Coz i must drive again...i need it right???? hehehe So, before we change the driver, the heavy traffic was started, we lost our 30mins just setting in the car, waiting when it get better, moving a little bit, waiting again, hearing the loud voices from rio and wilson coz they already want to get out. First wilson was sleeping for almost an hour travel but he got awake from rio's loud voice. We cannot do nothing hmmm...just continue make some different kind of stories, make some tricks, or to catch there bad mood change to good....hahaha atlast we reach in the BOUNDERY to Germany. To "Zoll" (to go through "Customs") is also not easy specially for a Pinay like me, coz somes are so strict and somes are not. But we are Lucky coz the one whose inspected our documents (Passports,Residential Permits), his not looking for a valid VISA from my Passport. Valid Visa???

Maybe some wondering why i said im lucky...maybe some think that we Pinay and Pinoy or other foreigners whose living here in Switzerland don't need a visa to take some shopping, vacation, sighteeing from our neighbor country. But absolutely NOT we still need that VISA(schengen visum) for those kind of travel. Coz 1st i've heard this news, from my husband he said No, i still have to apply my visa... some of my friends says No, i don't need a visa...it's REALLY confusing...haaahhhh

That's why in Boundery....we asked from the personel who knows more about this:::::: so my husband asked..it's nice that our understanding from this NEWS was answered clearly with a lots of explanation, examples which we don't need anymore. Coz i want to go at that very moment...go continue our plan today...go in hurry to catch my G.A. (General Assemnly) but still i'm sitted in the car waiting for my husband when they got finish...for me it's boring specially that i've known I STILL NEED A VISA. Which the personel said, if i fly to Phils and have a connection flight from Germany i don't need a visa anymore. But if i fly to Madrid this Autumn for our Europian Conference i need a Visa. For example we fly to London which is not (schengen staten) and have connection flight to Germany we don't need a visa. That's all thank you!!!

                Hallo to everybody concern!!!

This is the 2nd edition from my last blog published called FRIENDS for those who doesn't read it, i would not say that you must read it, but what can i tell you! maybe YOU MISS HALF of your life if you do not read it...hahaha what a daunting task (shame on me:)))i've made.

"MPTenieans...." (this is the word i've called to my friends whom i've meet in MPT Phils. the company i've worked before.)Some of them are in USA now.For my latest survey, one of them is now living in a state of Illionois, in Ohio, Florida, Missisippi, New York and in my neighbor country Austria they are all happy "Is It Right???" and succesful from there career.Somes are them, whom still i have contact with are in PHILS.

Maybe you are wondering or still asking in your mine!!! Where i am now??? I am now here in SWITZERLAND a place where i'm residing at this present moment, together with my two inspiring KIDS (a girl and a boy) what a perfect much right??? yakksss and of course if without my kids, he is not in my side too..."mein lieber Mann" (in english my loving husband).I am happy to be with them... although i cannot work anymore like in Phils as what i used to work 5-6 days a week it's quite more, but then, here switzerland i used to stay at home, 100% mother and wife...but i love it too...that is my very best choice...(what a loving Mama i am now ).To become a mother is also not easy..."i get mad too...i really try not to scold my daughter but seems she let me scold her...hahaha

Back to my 2nd edition; I got also some friends here in my place "CH(Switzerland" I meet a 1st pinay in McDonald Zürich where at this moment, i am still visiting my German language course, we usually go this fastfood with my co-student. I've remembered that was, 4years ago, i just arrrived in Switzerland for 2months. And this pinay invited me to join this Religious group, this group is for me too familiar that's why my answer is YES, i will join.
So, to short the story; i've got some Pinay Friends here in Switzerland...inspite for my early age...hahaha No what i mean is although i am just new here in CH, coz i've meet pinay that is already 10-25 years here now...for me it's also interesting. One from them is from Cebu Phils. a Province where i came from. She inspired me/us, during in our Meetings. I know, that HE give me/us this person as an instrument to be show HIS right way, to strengthen our FAITH, LOVE, and Service/Doings.

For being a mother too; I got also some Pinay Mother Friends here, and have our regular Meetings... mostly we did it on Wednesday afternoon. It is really nice to have a contact like this coz not only for Chika but also nice to our children as what i've observed. Rio (my daughter) learned how to share her toys(if where at home) and to be share(if where not), to play with another kids...and most of all how to handle a situation when they are in quarrel. Coz for us Mother or i know most people knows that , quarrel is quite normal from kids. It is a part from there growth right???
Mabuhay!!!

The word FRIENDS has really a wide meaning if we locate it in dictionary, in a encyclopedia or any other source of searching...for me i will define it in a simple defination or in my awesome understanding hmm...Friends is a person whom you have contact,is also a person whom you can share and trust with, or whom you lean on or what can you define it???...

Way back for a hundreds or thousands of miles to my home country Phils.,THERE, i really got a million, milllion of friends....hehehe how i know if they are already millions...??? hmm perhaps i said it, coz i cannot longer count how many they are now!!! maybe i'm lucky to have there as my friends or shall we say they're lucky to have me there friend....hahaha

In phils since im still in High School...2 of them from my Friends that i really count as my very best friend, Richel and Rachel..hmmm i really miss our happenings what we've shared. Last we've visited Phils. 3months ago i've meet them in our place, they are both married already like me and im very, very happy to see them again.

In MPT (Mactan Parts Technology) , thi is the company where i've worked before...same as what my topic said FRIENDS i meet my new friends at this moment...I have worked for more than 5years in this Technology, and it means i have my friends there for long years communicated...as well at this present, i still have contact from some of them.

Maybe my story is quite...boring or maybe you find it interesting...it's up to you how you count it or else you can tell me your story or how your FRIENDDDSSS mean to you???

I can share to you some photos from my friends here in my blog...but still i need to ask first if they allow me to share it to many people.
Happiness is there but also the word "Disappointment" i really felt of what i've seen, a thing, a one thing "the House???" the house??? my sister and i was planned that house to renovate and what the person is in concerned told us they can finished the house before we arrived "jan.26'06" in phils. But is NOT...hemmmm
There, we stayed for almost 1week, together with my brother JR

You're green, the color of growth and vigor. Good-hearted and giving, you have a knack for finding and bringing out the best in people. Green is the most down-to-earth color in the spectrum - reliable and trustworthy. People know they can count on you to be around in times of need, since your concern for people is genuine and sincere. You take pride in being a good friend. For you, success is measured in terms of personal achievement and growth, not by status or position. Rare as emeralds, greens are wonderful, natural people. It truly is your color!
